                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                               AN ACT


  1- 1  To amend an Act reincorporating the City of Blairsville in
  1- 2  the County of Union, approved March 28, 1984 (Ga. L. 1984,
  1- 3  p. 4967), as amended, so as to deannex certain property; to
  1- 4  provide for new corporate limits; to provide an effective
  1- 5  date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

  1- 6       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

                         SECTION 1.

  1- 7  An Act reincorporating the City of Blairsville in the County
  1- 8  of Union, approved March 28, 1984 (Ga. L. 1984, p. 4967), as
  1- 9  amended, is amended by striking subsection (b) of Section
  1-10  1.10 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

  1-11      "(b)(1) The property herein described shall be deannexed
  1-12      from the corporate limits of the City of Blairsville as
  1-13      follows:

  1-14        BEGINNING at the rock with 'X' in top painted red
  1-15        located on the common corner of Land Lots 305, 306,
  1-16        307, and 308; running thence North 04<20'50" West
  1-17        1491.78 feet to an iron pin found (3/4" open top
  1-18        pipe); thence North 07<29'13" West 145.09 feet to an
  1-19        iron pin set (1/2" rebar); thence North 07<29'13" West
  1-20        339.50 feet to an iron pin found (1/2" open top pipe);
  1-21        thence North 10<07'53" West 218.67 feet to an iron pin
  1-22        found (3/4" open top pipe); thence North 32<55'40"
  1-23        West 44.43 feet to a point; thence North 72<48'46"
  1-24        East 170.00 feet to a point; thence North 17<41'14"
  1-25        West 6.42 feet to an iron pin found (1/2" rebar);
  1-26        thence North 17<41'14" West 393.58 feet to a point;

  2-13        Union County, Georgia.

  2-14      (2) The new corporate limits of the City of Blairsville
  2-15      shall be as follows:

  2-16        BEGINNING at a point South 85<25' East 2640 feet from
  2-17        the center of the Square located in the City of
  2-18        Blairsville, Georgia, being the square upon which the
  2-19        former Union County Courthouse is located (said Square
  2-20        being elliptical in shape); thence South 88<59'07"
  2-21        East 211.16 feet to a concrete monument at a fence
  2-22        corner; thence seven courses and distances Easterly
  2-23        along a fence line as follows: South 84<37'23" East
  2-24        206.05 feet, South 84<30'11" East 213.37 feet, South

  2-26        185.29 feet, South 87<10' East 280.0 feet, North

  3-45        (one-half mile) from the center of said Square to the
  3-46        POINT OF BEGINNING.

  4- 3        306 of the 9th District, 1st Section of Union County,
  4- 4        Georgia.

  4- 5    The following abbreviations were used in the above
  4- 6    descriptions: '-Minutes, and "-Seconds."

                         SECTION 2.

  4- 7  This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
  4- 8  Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

                         SECTION 3.

  4- 9  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
  4-10  repealed.
