HB 105 LC 18 6350 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 40-2-26 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to the form and contents of 1- 3 applications for registration of vehicles, so as to change 1- 4 the location in which vehicles are required to be 1- 5 registered; to change certain provisions with respect to 1- 6 contents of applications; to repeal conflicting laws; and 1- 7 for other purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 9 Code Section 40-2-26 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-10 Annotated, relating to the form and contents of applications 1-11 for registration of vehicles, is amended by striking 1-12 subsections (a) and (b) and inserting in their place new 1-13 subsections (a) and (b) to read as follows: 1-14 "(a) All applicants to register a vehicle shall apply to 1-15 the tag agent of the county wherein such vehicle is 1-16 required to be returned for ad valorem taxation applicant 1-17 owns real property. 1-18 (b) Application shall be made by the owner of the vehicle 1-19 upon blanks prepared by the commissioner for such 1-20 purposes. The application shall contain a statement of 1-21 the name, place of residence, and address of the 1-22 applicant; a brief description of the vehicle to be 1-23 registered, including its name and model, the name of the 1-24 manufacturer, the manufacturer's vehicle identification 1-25 number, and its shipping weight and carrying capacity; 1-26 from whom, where, and when the vehicle was purchased; the 1-27 total amount of all liens, if any, thereon, with the name 1-28 and address of the lienholder; and such other information 1-29 as the commissioner may require." SECTION 2. 1-30 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-31 repealed. -1- (Index)
