A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend Code Section 43-18-46 of the Official Code of
1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to grounds for sanctions against
1- 3 funeral establishments, funeral directors, and embalmers, so
1- 4 as to provide sanctions for failing to affix to a casket
1- 5 certain identifying information; to repeal conflicting laws;
1- 6 and for other purposes.
1- 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
1- 8 Code Section 43-18-46 of the Official Code of Georgia
1- 9 Annotated, relating to grounds for sanctions against funeral
1-10 establishments, funeral directors, and embalmers, is amended
1-11 by adding between paragraphs (28) and (29) thereof the
1-12 following:
1-13 "(28.1) Failing to identify the deceased human body
1-14 encased in a casket with a durable, noncorroding tag
1-15 affixed to the exterior of the casket which lists the
1-16 full name of such deceased;".
SECTION 2.
1-17 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
1-18 repealed.
