HB 1357 LC 19 2881 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to meetings open to the public, 1- 3 so as to allow all agencies subject to the open and public 1- 4 meetings law to conduct their meetings by telecommunications 1- 5 conference; to provide that presence by telecommunications 1- 6 conference constitutes presence for a quorum; to repeal 1- 7 conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 9 Code Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-10 Annotated, relating to meetings open to the public, is 1-11 amended by striking subsection (f) of said Code section and 1-12 inserting in its place the following: 1-13 "(f) Any An agency with state-wide jurisdiction shall be 1-14 authorized to conduct meetings by telecommunications 1-15 conference, provided that any such meeting is conducted in 1-16 compliance with this chapter. Any member of the governing 1-17 body of an agency or of any committee created by such 1-18 governing body communicating by telecommunications 1-19 equipment may be counted in attendance in order to 1-20 constitute a quorum." SECTION 2. 1-21 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-22 repealed. -1- (Index)
