HB 138 HB 138/AP H. B. No. 138 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representatives Cummings of the 27th, McBee of the 88th and Shanahan of the 10th A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 47-7-20 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to the Board of Trustees of the 1- 3 Georgia Firemen's Pension Fund, so as to change a certain 1- 4 designation; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other 1- 5 purposes. 1- 6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 7 Code Section 47-7-20 of the Official Code of Georgia 1- 8 Annotated, relating to the Board of Trustees of the Georgia 1- 9 Firemen's Pension Fund, is amended by striking in its 1-10 entirety subsection (c) and inserting in lieu thereof the 1-11 following: 1-12 "(c) The Georgia State Firemen's Firefighters' Association 1-13 shall be authorized to submit to the Governor the names of 1-14 nominees for each position on the board appointed by the 1-15 Governor pursuant to subsection (b) of this Code section. 1-16 The Governor, in making such appointments, may consider 1-17 the nominees submitted by said association, but all such 1-18 appointments shall be at the sole discretion of the 1-19 Governor, and the Governor shall not be required to 1-20 appoint members of the board from such nominees." SECTION 2. 1-21 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-22 repealed. H. B. No. 138 -1- (Index)
