HB 152 LC 18 6466 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 21-5-70 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to definitions regarding public 1- 3 officials conduct and lobbyist disclosure, so as to change 1- 4 the definition of a lobbyist with respect to certain 1- 5 employees of local governing authorities; to provide an 1- 6 effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other 1- 7 purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 9 Code Section 21-5-70 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-10 Annotated, relating to definitions regarding public 1-11 officials conduct and lobbyist disclosure, is amended by 1-12 striking subparagraph (D) of paragraph (6) and inserting in 1-13 its place a new subparagraph (D) to read as follows: 1-14 "(D) Any natural person who, for compensation, either 1-15 individually or as an employee of another person, 1-16 other than as an employee carrying out his or her 1-17 duties in advising the county or municipal governing 1-18 authority by whom such person is employed, undertakes 1-19 to promote or oppose the passage of any ordinance or 1-20 resolution by a public officer specified under 1-21 subparagraph (F) or (G) of paragraph (15) of Code 1-22 Section 21-5-3, or any committee of such public 1-23 officers, or the approval or veto of any such 1-24 ordinance or resolution;". SECTION 2. 1-25 This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the 1-26 Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval. SECTION 3. 1-27 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-28 repealed. -1- (Index)
