HB 162 LC 16 3826 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Chapter 28 of Title 43 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, known as the "Georgia State Occupational 1- 3 Therapy Licensing Act," so as to provide for the regulation 1- 4 and licensing of persons performing auditory integration 1- 5 training; to provide for definitions; to change the 1- 6 membership of the State Board of Occupational Therapy; to 1- 7 provide for the powers and duties of the board; to provide 1- 8 for issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation of 1- 9 licenses; to provide for penalties; to provide for related 1-10 matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1-12 Chapter 28 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-13 Annotated, known as the "Georgia State Occupational Therapy 1-14 Licensing Act," is amended by striking Code Section 43-28-1, 1-15 the short title, and inserting in lieu thereof the 1-16 following: 1-17 "43-28-1. (Index) 1-18 This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the 1-19 'Georgia State Occupational Therapy and Auditory 1-20 Integration Training Licensing Act.'" SECTION 2. 1-21 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 1-22 43-28-2, relating to purpose, and inserting in lieu thereof 1-23 the following: 1-24 "43-28-2. (Index) 1-25 This chapter was enacted to safeguard the public health, 1-26 safety, and welfare and to assure the availability of 1-27 occupational therapy services of high quality to persons 1-28 in need of such services and to protect the public from 1-29 being misled by incompetent, unscrupulous, and 1-30 unauthorized persons. It is the purpose of this chapter to -1- (Index) LC 16 3826 2- 1 provide for the regulation of persons offering 2- 2 occupational therapy services and auditory integration 2- 3 training to the public." SECTION 3. 2- 4 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 2- 5 43-28-3, relating to definitions, and inserting in lieu 2- 6 thereof the following: 2- 7 "43-28-3. (Index) 2- 8 As used in this chapter, the term: 2- 9 (1) 'Association' means the Georgia Occupational Therapy 2-10 Association. 2-11 (1.1) 'Auditory integration training' means the use of 2-12 music with a wide range of rhythmic, melodic, and tonal 2-13 variations filtered through an audiokinetron or other 2-14 approved filtering device for specified periods of time 2-15 as a treatment for autism or other developmental 2-16 disabilities. Treatment by auditory integration 2-17 training shall include assessment of the client's 2-18 problems and needs, a plan of listening sessions, and 2-19 referral for follow-up care by a qualified counselor. 2-20 (1.2) 'Auditory integration training practitioner' means 2-21 a person who practices auditory integration training and 2-22 who presents himself or herself to the public as such by 2-23 any title or description of services. 2-24 (2) 'Board' means the State Board of Occupational 2-25 Therapy and Auditory Integration Training. 2-26 (3) 'License' means a valid and current certificate of 2-27 registration issued by the joint-secretary. 2-28 (4) 'Occupational therapist' means a person licensed to 2-29 practice occupational therapy as defined in this chapter 2-30 and whose license is in good standing. 2-31 (5) 'Occupational therapy' includes but is not limited 2-32 to the following: 2-33 (A) Evaluation and treatment of individuals whose 2-34 abilities to cope with the tasks of living are 2-35 threatened or impaired by developmental deficiencies, 2-36 the aging process, learning disabilities, poverty and 2-37 cultural differences, physical injury or disease, 2-38 psychological and social disabilities, or anticipated 2-39 dysfunction. The treatment utilizes task oriented -2- (Index) LC 16 3826 3- 1 activities to prevent or correct physical, cognitive, 3- 2 or emotional deficiencies or to minimize the disabling 3- 3 effect of these deficiencies in the life of the 3- 4 individual; 3- 5 (B) Such evaluation techniques as assessment of 3- 6 sensory motor abilities, assessment of the development 3- 7 of self-care activities and capacity for independence, 3- 8 assessment of the physical capacity for prevocational 3- 9 and work tasks, assessment of play and leisure 3-10 performance, and appraisal of living areas for the 3-11 handicapped; and 3-12 (C) Specific occupational therapy techniques, such as 3-13 activity analysis, activities of daily living skills, 3-14 the fabrication and application of splints and 3-15 adaptive devices, sensory motor activities, the use of 3-16 specifically designed manual and creative activities, 3-17 guidance in the selection and use of adaptive 3-18 equipment, specific exercises and physical agent 3-19 modalities to enhance physical functional performance, 3-20 work capacities, and treatment techniques for physical 3-21 capabilities and cognitive retraining. Such techniques 3-22 are applied in the treatment of individual patients or 3-23 clients, in groups, or through social systems. 3-24 (6) 'Occupational therapy aide' means a person who 3-25 assists the occupational therapist and the occupational 3-26 therapy assistant in the practice of occupational 3-27 therapy and who works under the direct supervision of 3-28 the occupational therapist. 3-29 (7) 'Occupational therapy assistant' means a person 3-30 licensed to assist the occupational therapist in the 3-31 practice of occupational therapy under the supervision 3-32 of or with the consultation of the licensed occupational 3-33 therapist and whose license is in good standing. 3-34 (8) 'Person' means a natural person only, not a legal 3-35 entity. 3-36 (9) 'Physical agent modalities' means treatment 3-37 techniques which utilize heat, light, sound, cold, 3-38 electricity, or mechanical devices and also means 3-39 electrical therapeutic modalities which induce heat or 3-40 electrical current beneath the skin, including but not 3-41 limited to therapeutic ultrasound, galvanism, microwave, 3-42 diathermy, and electromuscular stimulation, and also 3-43 means hydrotherapy." -3- (Index) LC 16 3826 SECTION 4. 4- 1 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 4- 2 43-28-4, relating to the creation and members of the State 4- 3 Board of Occupational Therapy, in its entirety and inserting 4- 4 in lieu thereof the following: 4- 5 "43-28-4. (Index) 4- 6 (a) There is established the State Board of Occupational 4- 7 Therapy and Auditory Integration Training. 4- 8 (b) The board shall consist of six nine members who shall 4- 9 be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. 4-10 The members of the board shall be citizens of the United 4-11 States and residents of this state for at least one year 4-12 prior to their appointment. Five members of the board 4-13 shall have been engaged in rendering services to the 4-14 public, teaching, or research in occupational therapy for 4-15 at least three years immediately preceding their 4-16 appointment and may be occupational therapists or 4-17 occupational therapy assistants and shall at all times be 4-18 holders of valid licenses for the practice of occupational 4-19 therapy in this state and three members shall have been 4-20 engaged in the performance of or research in auditory 4-21 integration training for at least three years immediately 4-22 preceding their appointment. All of such members shall 4-23 fulfill the requirements for licensure of this chapter. 4-24 The sixth ninth member shall be appointed from the public 4-25 at large and shall have no connection whatsoever with the 4-26 profession or practice of occupational therapy or auditory 4-27 integration training. 4-28 (c) The board shall, within 90 days after July 1, 1976, be 4-29 selected as provided in subsection (b) of this Code 4-30 section. The members of the first board shall serve the 4-31 following terms: two members for a term of one year, two 4-32 members for a term of two years, and one member for a term 4-33 of three years. Those members of the board in office on 4-34 July 1, 1995, shall continue to serve for the terms for 4-35 which they were appointed. Not later than October 1, 4-36 1995, the three new members of the board representing the 4-37 practice of auditory integration training shall be 4-38 appointed and the initial members shall serve the 4-39 following terms: one member for a term of four years and 4-40 two members for terms of two years. At the expiration of 4-41 the above terms, board members shall be appointed in the 4-42 same manner as the initial appointment for a period of -4- (Index) LC 16 3826 5- 1 four years; but no person shall be appointed to serve more 5- 2 than two consecutive terms. Terms shall begin on the first 5- 3 day of the calendar year and end on the last day of the 5- 4 calendar year or until successors are appointed, except 5- 5 for the first members who shall serve through the last 5- 6 calendar day of the year in which they are appointed 5- 7 before commencing the terms prescribed by this Code 5- 8 section. 5- 9 (d) The initial term of the member appointed from the 5-10 public at large shall expire on June 30, 1984; thereafter, 5-11 successors shall be appointed for a term of four years. 5-12 (e) When a vacancy occurs on the board, the Governor shall 5-13 appoint a member to fill the unexpired term. 5-14 (f) The Governor, after notice and opportunity for hearing 5-15 by the board, may remove any member of the board for 5-16 neglect of duty, incompetence, revocation or suspension of 5-17 his or her license, or other dishonorable conduct. After 5-18 such removal or vacancy due to other reasons, the Governor 5-19 shall appoint a successor to the unexpired term." SECTION 5. 5-20 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 5-21 43-28-7, relating to the powers and duties of the board, and 5-22 inserting in lieu thereof the following: 5-23 "43-28-7. (Index) 5-24 (a) The board shall administer, coordinate, and enforce 5-25 this chapter. 5-26 (b) The board shall have the responsibility of evaluating 5-27 the qualifications and providing for the examination of 5-28 applicants for licensure under this chapter and shall 5-29 assist the joint-secretary in carrying out this chapter. 5-30 The joint-secretary shall have the authority to contract 5-31 with an outside agency for services providing for the 5-32 supervision and administration of the examination as 5-33 needed. 5-34 (c) The board may issue subpoenas, examine witnesses, and 5-35 administer oaths and may investigate allegations of 5-36 practices violating this chapter. 5-37 (d) The board shall adopt rules and regulations relating 5-38 to professional conduct to carry out the policy of this 5-39 chapter, including, but not limited to, regulations 5-40 relating to professional licensure and the establishment -5- (Index) LC 16 3826 6- 1 of ethical standards of practice for persons holding a 6- 2 license to practice occupational therapy or auditory 6- 3 integration training in this state and may amend or repeal 6- 4 the same in accordance with Chapter 13 of Title 50, the 6- 5 'Georgia Administrative Procedure Act.' 6- 6 (e) The board shall conduct such hearings and keep such 6- 7 records and minutes as are necessary to carry out its 6- 8 functioning. It shall provide reasonable public notice to 6- 9 the appropriate persons of the time and place of all 6-10 hearings authorized under this chapter in such a manner 6-11 and at such times as it may determine by its rules and 6-12 regulations. 6-13 (f) The board shall prepare or approve all examinations of 6-14 applicants for license at least twice a year, determine 6-15 the qualifications and authorize the issuance of licenses 6-16 to qualified occupational therapists and occupational 6-17 therapy assistants and to qualified auditory integration 6-18 training practitioners, issue and renew licenses, suspend 6-19 or revoke licenses in the manner provided, and determine 6-20 the qualifications and approved qualified occupational 6-21 therapy schools and courses in occupational therapy and 6-22 approved courses of study for auditory integration 6-23 training for the purpose of determining qualifications of 6-24 applicants for licensure. 6-25 (g) The board may provide for the continuing professional 6-26 education of persons subject to this chapter by 6-27 appropriate regulation." SECTION 6. 6-28 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 6-29 43-28-8, relating to the license requirement for 6-30 occupational therapists, and inserting in lieu thereof the 6-31 following: 6-32 31- 6-8"> "43-28-8. (Index) 6-33 (a) No person shall: 6-34 (1) Practice occupational therapy; or 6-35 (2) Hold himself or herself out as an occupational 6-36 therapist or an occupational therapy assistant or as 6-37 being able to render occupational therapy services in 6-38 this state unless that person is licensed in accordance 6-39 with this chapter. 6-40 (b) No person shall: -6- (Index) LC 16 3826 7- 1 (1) Practice auditory integration training; or 7- 2 (2) Hold himself or herself out as an auditory 7- 3 integration training practitioner or as being able to 7- 4 render auditory integration training in this state 7- 5 unless that person is licensed in accordance with this 7- 6 chapter." SECTION 7. 7- 7 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 7- 8 43-28-9, relating to qualification of license applicants, 7- 9 and inserting in lieu thereof the following: 7-10 "43-28-9. (Index) 7-11 (a) An applicant applying for a license as an occupational 7-12 therapist or as an occupational therapy assistant shall 7-13 file written application, on forms provided by the board, 7-14 showing to the satisfaction of the board that such 7-15 applicant meets the following requirements: 7-16 (1) Is of good moral character; 7-17 (2) Has successfully completed the academic requirements 7-18 of an educational program in occupational therapy 7-19 recognized by the board, with concentration in 7-20 biological or physical science, psychology, and 7-21 sociology and with education in selected manual skills. 7-22 For an occupational therapist or occupational therapy 7-23 assistant, such a program shall be accredited by a 7-24 recognized accrediting agency acceptable to the board. 7-25 Other comparable educational programs such as those 7-26 approved by the World Federation of Occupational 7-27 Therapists may be recognized by the board upon 7-28 evaluation of detailed program and course content; 7-29 (3) Has successfully completed a period of supervised 7-30 field work experience at a recognized educational 7-31 institution or a training program accredited as provided 7-32 in paragraph (2) of this Code section. For an 7-33 occupational therapist, a minimum of six months of 7-34 supervised field work experience is required. For an 7-35 occupational therapy assistant, a minimum of two months 7-36 of supervised field work experience is required; and 7-37 (4) Has passed an examination as provided for in Code 7-38 Section 43-28-10. 7-39 (b) An applicant not meeting the requirements of 7-40 subsection (a) of this Code section must indicate to the -7- (Index) LC 16 3826 8- 1 board that he or she has obtained a waiver of such 8- 2 requirements pursuant to Code Section 43-28-11. 8- 3 (c) An applicant applying for a license as an auditory 8- 4 integration training practitioner shall file written 8- 5 application, on forms provided by the board, showing to 8- 6 the satisfaction of the board that such applicant meets 8- 7 the following requirements: 8- 8 (1) Is of good moral character; 8- 9 (2) Holds a master's degree in special education, 8-10 psychology, social work, audiology, speech or language, 8-11 or in a health related field of study from an accredited 8-12 college or university or holds a bachelor's degree and a 8-13 minimum of five years of related professional experience 8-14 or is a licensed physician; and 8-15 (3) Has passed an examination as provided for in Code 8-16 Section 43-28-10." SECTION 8. 8-17 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 8-18 43-28-10, relating to examinations for licensure, in its 8-19 entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following: 8-20 "43-28-10. (Index) 8-21 (a) A person applying for licensure shall demonstrate his 8-22 or her eligibility in accordance with the requirements of 8-23 Code Section 43-28-9 and shall make application for 8-24 examination upon a form and in such a manner as the board 8-25 shall prescribe. Such application shall be accompanied by 8-26 the fee prescribed by the board. A person who fails an 8-27 examination may make reapplication for reexamination 8-28 accompanied by the prescribed fee. 8-29 (b) Each applicant for licensure as an occupational 8-30 therapist or as an occupational therapy assistant under 8-31 this chapter shall be examined by the board in written 8-32 examination to test his or her knowledge of the basic and 8-33 clinical sciences relating to occupational therapy and 8-34 occupational therapy theory and practice, including the 8-35 applicant's professional skills and judgment in the 8-36 utilization of occupational therapy techniques and methods 8-37 and such other subjects as the board may deem useful to 8-38 determine the applicant's fitness to practice. Each 8-39 applicant for licensure as an auditory integration 8-40 training practitioner under this chapter shall provide -8- (Index) LC 16 3826 9- 1 proof that he or she has been trained by an instructor 9- 2 approved by the developer of the filtering device used by 9- 3 such person and shall be examined by the board in written 9- 4 examination to test his or her knowledge of the following: 9- 5 (1) Assessment methods; 9- 6 (2) Proper operation of the filtering device; 9- 7 (3) Appropriate techniques for treating nonverbal 9- 8 clients; 9- 9 (4) Methods for facilitating cooperation during 9-10 listening sessions; 9-11 (5) Determination of the specific disability which the 9-12 client presents; and 9-13 (6) Ethical standards involved in counseling families 9-14 regarding the effect of treatment and the need for 9-15 follow-up care. 9-16 The standards for appropriate auditory integration 9-17 training shall be based on the results of research and 9-18 clinical trials as interpreted by a board of practitioners 9-19 who are recognized as authorities in the use of the 9-20 particular machine for which the candidate is seeking 9-21 licensure. The board shall establish the standards for 9-22 acceptable performance by the applicant. 9-23 (c) Examinations shall be given at least twice a year. 9-24 (d) Applicants may obtain their examination scores and may 9-25 review their papers in accordance with such rules and 9-26 regulations as the board may establish." SECTION 9. 9-27 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 9-28 43-28-11, relating to waiver of the examination requirement, 9-29 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following: 9-30 "43-28-11. (Index) 9-31 The board may waive the examination and grant a license to 9-32 any applicant who shall present proof of current licensure 9-33 as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy 9-34 assistant in another state, the District of Columbia, or 9-35 any other territory of the United States, which requires 9-36 standards for licensure considered by the board to be 9-37 equivalent to the requirements for licensure of this 9-38 chapter. The board may waive the examination and grant a -9- (Index) LC 16 3826 10- 1 license to any applicant who shall present proof of 10- 2 current licensure as an auditory integration training 10- 3 practitioner in another state, the District of Columbia, 10- 4 or any other territory of the United States which requires 10- 5 standards for licensure considered by the board to be 10- 6 equivalent to the requirements for licensure of this 10- 7 chapter." SECTION 10. 10- 8 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 10- 9 43-28-12, relating to issuance of licenses, and inserting in 10-10 lieu thereof the following: 10-11 "43-28-12. (Index) 10-12 (a) The board shall issue a license to any person who 10-13 meets the requirements of this chapter upon payment of the 10-14 license fee prescribed. 10-15 (b) The board shall issue a limited permit to persons who 10-16 have completed the education and experience requirements 10-17 of this chapter. This permit shall allow the person to 10-18 practice occupational therapy under the supervision of an 10-19 occupational therapist who holds a current license in this 10-20 state and shall be valid until the date on which the 10-21 results of the next qualifying examination have been made 10-22 public. This limited permit shall not be renewed if the 10-23 applicant has failed the examination. 10-24 (c) The board may issue a limited permit to practice 10-25 occupational therapy to persons who have successfully 10-26 completed a certification examination approved by the 10-27 board. This permit shall allow the person to practice 10-28 occupational therapy for a period not to exceed 90 days 10-29 under the supervision of an occupational therapist who 10-30 holds a current license in this state. 10-31 (d) Any person who is issued a license as an occupational 10-32 therapist under the terms of this chapter may use the 10-33 words 'occupational therapist registered,' 'licensed 10-34 occupational therapist,' or 'occupational therapist,' or 10-35 he may use the letters 'O.T.R.,' 'L.O.T.,' 'O.T.,' or 10-36 'O.T.R./L.' in connection with his or her name or place of 10-37 business to denote registration under this chapter. 10-38 (e) Any person who is issued a license as an occupational 10-39 therapy assistant under the terms of this chapter may use 10-40 the words 'occupational therapy assistant,' 'licensed 10-41 occupational therapy assistant,' or 'certified -10- (Index) LC 16 3826 11- 1 occupational therapy assistant' or may use the letters 11- 2 'O.T.A.,' 'L.O.T.A.,' 'C.O.T.A.,' or 'C.O.T.A./L.' in 11- 3 connection with his or her name or place of business. 11- 4 (f) The board shall issue a limited permit to practice 11- 5 auditory integration training to persons who have 11- 6 completed the educational requirements of this chapter. 11- 7 This permit shall allow the person to practice auditory 11- 8 integration training under the following conditions: 11- 9 (1) Under the supervision of an auditory integration 11-10 training practitioner who holds a current license in 11-11 this state; or 11-12 (2) By submitting a plan of intended practice to the 11-13 licensing board which shall include: 11-14 (A) A description of the type of client such person 11-15 intends to serve; 11-16 (B) A detailed description of the practioner's 11-17 previous experience with this client population; 11-18 (C) A copy of all written materials which the 11-19 practioner will provide to clients and their families; 11-20 (D) Submission, quarterly, of records indicating 11-21 actual sound levels used on each client during the 11-22 prescribed 20 listening sessions; 11-23 (E) The planned follow-up care for each client; and 11-24 (F) Copies of written supervision and evaluation from 11-25 an expert in the field of auditory integration 11-26 training, to be filed quarterly. A temporary permit 11-27 issued under this subsection shall be valid for a 11-28 period of one year and may be renewed not more than 11-29 twice for a total of three years. 11-30 (g) Any person who is issued a temporary permit or a 11-31 license as an auditory integration training practitioner 11-32 under the terms of this chapter may use the words 11-33 'auditory integration training practitioner,' 'auditory 11-34 integration practitioner,' or 'auditory integration 11-35 specialist' and may refer to his or her practice as 11-36 'auditory integration training,' 'auditory integration,' 11-37 or 'A.I.T.'" SECTION 11. 11-38 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 11-39 42-28-13, relating to denial, refusal, suspension, or -11- (Index) LC 16 3826 12- 1 revocation of licenses, and inserting in lieu thereof the 12- 2 following: 12- 3 "43-28-13. (Index) 12- 4 (a) The board shall, after notice and opportunity for 12- 5 hearing, have the power to deny or refuse to renew, 12- 6 suspend, or revoke the license of, or impose a fine or 12- 7 probationary conditions upon, any licensee who has been 12- 8 guilty of unprofessional conduct which has endangered or 12- 9 is likely to endanger the health, welfare, or safety of 12-10 the public. Such unprofessional conduct includes: 12-11 (1) Obtaining or attempting to obtain a license by 12-12 fraud, misrepresentation, or concealment of material 12-13 facts; 12-14 (2) Being guilty of unprofessional conduct as defined by 12-15 the rules and regulations established by the board; or 12-16 (3) Being convicted of a crime other than minor offenses 12-17 defined as 'minor misdemeanors,' 'violations,' or 12-18 'offenses' in any court if the acts for which he such 12-19 person was convicted are found by the board to have a 12-20 direct bearing on whether he or she should be entrusted 12-21 to serve the public in the capacity of an occupational 12-22 therapist or occupational therapy assistant or an 12-23 auditory integration training practitioner. 12-24 (b) Such denial, refusal to renew, suspension, revocation, 12-25 or imposition of a fine or probationary conditions upon a 12-26 licensee may be ordered by the board in a decision made 12-27 after a hearing in the manner provided by the rules and 12-28 regulations adopted by the board. One year from the date 12-29 of revocation of a license, application may be made to the 12-30 board for reinstatement. The board shall have the 12-31 discretion to accept or reject an application for 12-32 reinstatement and may, but shall not be required to, hold 12-33 a hearing to consider such reinstatement." SECTION 12. 12-34 Said chapter is further amended by striking Code Section 12-35 43-28-16, relating to penalties, and inserting in lieu 12-36 thereof the following: 12-37 "43-28-16. (Index) 12-38 (a) Any person who violates this chapter shall be guilty 12-39 of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be 12-40 punished by a fine of not less than $250.00 and not more -12- (Index) LC 16 3826 13- 1 than $1,000.00, or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 13- 2 six months, or both. A license held by any person 13- 3 convicted under this Code section shall be forfeited and 13- 4 revoked immediately for one year from the date of such 13- 5 conviction. 13- 6 (b) It is unlawful for any person who is not registered 13- 7 under this chapter as an occupational therapist or as an 13- 8 occupational therapy assistant or whose registration has 13- 9 been suspended or revoked to use, in connection with his 13-10 or her name or place of business, the words 'occupational 13-11 therapist,' 'licensed occupational therapist,' 13-12 'occupational therapist registered,' 'occupational therapy 13-13 assistant,' 'licensed occupational therapy assistant,' 13-14 'certified occupational therapy assistant'; or the letters 13-15 'O.T.,' 'L.O.T.,' 'O.T.R.,' 'O.T.A.,' 'L.O.T.A.,' or 13-16 'C.O.T.A.'; or any other words, letters, abbreviations, or 13-17 insignia indicating or implying that he or she is an 13-18 occupational therapist or an occupational therapy 13-19 assistant or to show in any way, orally, in writing, in 13-20 print, or by sign, directly or by implication, or to 13-21 represent himself as an occupational therapist or an 13-22 occupational therapy assistant. 13-23 (c) It is unlawful for any person who is not registered 13-24 under this chapter as an auditory integration training 13-25 practitioner or whose registration has been suspended or 13-26 revoked to use, in connection with his or her name or 13-27 place of business, the words 'auditory integration 13-28 training practitioner' or 'auditory integration training 13-29 specialist' or other words, letters, abbreviations, or 13-30 insignia indicating or implying that he or she is an 13-31 auditory integration training practitioner or to show in 13-32 any way, orally, in writing, in print, or by sign, 13-33 directly or by implication, or to represent himself or 13-34 herself as an auditory integration training practitioner." SECTION 13. 13-35 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 13-36 repealed. -13- (Index)
