HB 187 LC 16 3815 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Chapter 13 of Title 43 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to instructors in driver 1- 3 training and operators of driver training schools, so as to 1- 4 provide that instructors teaching driver training in 1- 5 accredited schools shall be exempt from licensing 1- 6 requirements of this chapter only if academic credit is 1- 7 awarded to students for such driver training course; to 1- 8 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1- 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1-10 Chapter 13 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-11 Annotated, relating to instructors in driver training and 1-12 operators of driver training schools, is amended by striking 1-13 Code Section 43-13-10, relating to exemptions from said 1-14 chapter, in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the 1-15 following: 1-16 "43-13-10. (Index) 1-17 This chapter shall not apply to an accredited secondary 1-18 school, junior college, or college conducting a driver 1-19 training course, provided that the course is open only to 1-20 students of such accredited school or college and that 1-21 academic credit is awarded to students for the successful 1-22 completion of such course; nor shall it apply to driver 1-23 improvement schools operated by the state or by a county 1-24 or municipality." SECTION 2. 1-25 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-26 repealed. -1- (Index)
