                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                               AN ACT


  1- 1  To amend Code Section 33-9-42 of the Official Code of
  1- 2  Georgia Annotated, relating to reductions in insurance
  1- 3  premiums for certain motor vehicle liability and other
  1- 4  coverage, so as to provide that such reductions shall be in
  1- 5  addition to other reductions and discounts and to provide
  1- 6  for certain disciplinary actions; to repeal conflicting
  1- 7  laws; and for other purposes.

  1- 8       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

                         SECTION 1.

  1- 9  Code Section 33-9-42 of the Official Code of Georgia
  1-10  Annotated, relating to reductions in insurance premiums for
  1-11  certain motor vehicle liability and other coverage, is
  1-12  amended by adding at the end the following:

  1-13    "(i) The reduction required by this Code section shall be
  1-14    in addition to and not in place of any other reduction or
  1-15    discount the insurer may provide as a part of any rating
  1-16    plan.  The Commissioner is authorized to revoke, suspend,
  1-17    or otherwise discipline any insurer required to comply
  1-18    with this Code section if that insurer fails so to
  1-19    comply."

                         SECTION 2.

  1-20  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
  1-21  repealed.
