A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend Article 1 of Chapter 2 of Title 44 of the Official
1- 2 Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to recording of deeds
1- 3 and other instruments, so as to provide for the inclusion of
1- 4 a property tax map and parcel number on deeds in order to
1- 5 facilitate the construction and interpretation of recorded
1- 6 deeds; to provide for related matters; to provide for an
1- 7 effective date and for applicability; to repeal conflicting
1- 8 laws; and for other purposes.
1- 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
1-10 Article 1 of Chapter 2 of Title 44 of the Official Code of
1-11 Georgia Annotated, relating to recording of deeds and other
1-12 instruments, is amended by striking subsection (b) of Code
1-13 Section 44-2-14, relating to requirements for recordation,
1-14 and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection to read as
1-15 follows:
1-16 "(b) No affidavit prepared under Code Section 44-2-20 and
1-17 no instrument by which the title to real property or any
1-18 interest therein is conveyed, created, assigned,
1-19 encumbered, disposed of, or otherwise affected shall be
1-20 entitled to recordation unless the name and mailing
1-21 address of the natural person to whom the affidavit or
1-22 instrument is to be returned and the property tax map and
1-23 parcel number of the property to be conveyed are is
1-24 legibly printed, typewritten, or stamped upon such
1-25 affidavit or instrument at the top of the first page
1-26 thereof."
SECTION 2.
1-27 This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1995, and shall
1-28 apply with respect to affidavits or instruments submitted
1-29 for recording on or after that date.

2- 1 All laws and parts thereof in conflict with this section are
2- 2 repealed.
