HB 639 LC 9 8074 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend an Act making provisions for the judge of the 1- 2 Probate Court of Lamar County, approved March 27, 1972 (Ga. 1- 3 L. 1972, p. 2636), as amended, so as to provide that the 1- 4 judge of the Probate Court of Lamar County shall have 1- 5 jurisdiction to try all misdemeanor cases arising in the 1- 6 county where the defendant waives a jury trial and pleads 1- 7 guilty to such misdemeanor; to repeal conflicting laws; and 1- 8 for other purposes. 1- 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1-10 An Act making provisions for the judge of the Probate Court 1-11 of Lamar County, approved March 27, 1972 (Ga. L. 1972, p. 1-12 2636), as amended, is amended by adding, following Section 1-13 3, a new Section 3.1 to read as follows: 1-14 "SECTION 3.1. 1-15 The judge of the Probate Court of Lamar County shall have 1-16 jurisdiction to try all misdemeanor cases arising in the 1-17 county where the defendant waives a jury trial and pleads 1-18 guilty to such misdemeanor." SECTION 2. 1-19 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-20 repealed. -1- (Index)
