HB 729 LC 10 1079 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 43-14-2 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to definitions applicable to the 1- 3 regulation of electrical contractors, plumbers, conditioned 1- 4 air contractors, low-voltage contractors, and utility 1- 5 contractors, so as to change the definition of the term 1- 6 "utility contracting"; to repeal conflicting laws; and for 1- 7 other purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: Utility contracting; definition 7291>hb729 1- 9 Code Section 43-14-2 of the Official Code of Georgia 1-10 Annotated, relating to definitions applicable to the 1-11 regulation of electrical contractors, plumbers, conditioned 1-12 air contractors, low-voltage contractors, and utility 1-13 contractors, is amended by striking paragraph (13) in its 1-14 entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new paragraph (13) 1-15 to read as follows: 1-16 "(13) 'Utility contracting' means undertaking to 1-17 construct, erect, alter, or repair or have constructed, 1-18 erected, altered, or repaired, up to but not within five 1-19 feet of any building, structure, or conveyance, any 1-20 utility system in which the cost of the utility system 1-21 work exceeds $100,000.00." SECTION 2. 1-22 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-23 repealed. -1- (Index)
