                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                               AN ACT


  1- 1  To amend Part 4 of Article 1 of Chapter 18 of Title 43 of
  1- 2  the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
  1- 3  operation of funeral establishments, so as to require that
  1- 4  all caskets used for interment appropriately identify the
  1- 5  remains of the deceased; to provide for other related
  1- 6  matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

                         SECTION 1.

  1- 8  Part 4 of Article 1 of Chapter 18 of Title 43 of the
  1- 9  Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to operation of
  1-10  funeral establishments, is amended by inserting at the end
  1-11  thereof a new Code section to be designated as Code Section
  1-12  43-18-80 to read as follows:

  1-13    "43-18-80. (Index)

  1-14    Each funeral establishment subject to the licensure
  1-15    requirements of Part 3 of this article shall affix to
  1-16    every casket used for interment the name and social
  1-17    security number of the deceased person therein interred."

                         SECTION 2.

  1-18  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
  1-19  repealed.
