HB 758 LC 18 6845 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Code Section 42-4-50 of the Official Code of 1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to definitions regarding medical 1- 3 services for inmates, so as to change the definition of a 1- 4 detention facility for purposes of liability for payment for 1- 5 certain medical services; to repeal conflicting laws; and 1- 6 for other purposes. 1- 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 8 Code Section 42-4-50 of the Official Code of Georgia 1- 9 Annotated, relating to definitions regarding medical 1-10 services for inmates, is amended by striking paragraph (1) 1-11 of subsection (a) and inserting in its place a new paragraph 1-12 (1) to read as follows: 1-13 "(1) 'Detention facility' means a municipal or county 1-14 jail, workcamp, or other municipal or county detention 1-15 facility used for the detention of persons charged with 1-16 or convicted of either a felony, a misdemeanor, or a 1-17 municipal offense." SECTION 2. 1-18 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 1-19 repealed. -1- (Index)
