                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                               AN ACT


  1- 1  To amend Code Section 48-2-32 of the Official Code of
  1- 2  Georgia Annotated, relating to forms of payment of taxes and
  1- 3  fees, so as to authorize the payment of state income taxes
  1- 4  by credit card or debit card; to provide for powers, duties,
  1- 5  and authority of the state revenue commissioner; to repeal
  1- 6  conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

                         SECTION 1.

  1- 8  Code Section 48-2-32 of the Official Code of Georgia
  1- 9  Annotated, relating to forms of payment of taxes and fees,
  1-10  is amended by adding a new subsection at the end thereof, to
  1-11  be designated subsection (g), to read as follows:

  1-12      "(g)(1) A taxpayer shall be authorized to pay state
  1-13      income taxes by credit card or debit card.

  1-14      (2) The commissioner is specifically authorized to
  1-15      promulgate regulations and prescribe rules and
  1-16      procedures to implement this subsection."

                         SECTION 2.

  1-17  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
  1-18  repealed.
