A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend Code Section 16-7-26 of the Official Code of
1- 2 Georgia Annotated, relating to vandalism to a place of
1- 3 worship, so as to make a violation of this statute a felony;
1- 4 to increase the prison term; to provide for a fine; to
1- 5 provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and
1- 6 for other purposes.
1- 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
1- 8 Code Section 16-7-26 of the Official Code of Georgia
1- 9 Annotated, relating to vandalism to a place of worship, is
1-10 amended by striking subsection (b) and inserting in lieu
1-11 thereof a new subsection to read as follows:
1-12 "(b) A person convicted of the offense of vandalism to a
1-13 place of worship shall be guilty of a felony and shall be
1-14 punished by imprisonment for not less than one five nor
1-15 more than five ten years and by the imposition of a fine
1-16 of $50,000.00."
SECTION 2.
1-17 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
1-18 repealed.
