HB 969 LC 18 6918 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend an Act making provisions for the Magistrate Court 1- 2 of DeKalb County, approved March 28, 1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 1- 3 4819), as amended by an Act approved March 15, 1988 (Ga. L. 1- 4 1988, p. 4099), so as to change the provisions relating to 1- 5 the compensation of the chief magistrate; to provide an 1- 6 effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other 1- 7 purposes. 1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1- 9 An Act making provisions for the Magistrate Court of DeKalb 1-10 County, approved March 28, 1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 4819), as 1-11 amended by an Act approved March 15, 1988 (Ga. L. 1988, p. 1-12 4099), is amended by striking subsection (a) of Section 3 1-13 and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (a) to read 1-14 as follows: 1-15 "(a) The chief magistrate shall receive an annual salary 1-16 equal to 85 75 percent of the total of: 1-17 (1) The annual salary received by a superior court judge 1-18 from state funds; 1-19 (2) The annual amount of any supplement paid to a judge 1-20 of the superior courts of the Stone Mountain Judicial 1-21 Circuit as a county supplement to the state salary; and 1-22 (3) Any increases in such annual salary or county 1-23 supplement, or both, enacted or paid to such judges of 1-24 the superior courts on or after January 1, 1995. 1-25 Such salary shall be paid in equal monthly installments 1-26 from the funds of DeKalb County." SECTION 2. 1-27 This Act shall become effective on the first day of the 1-28 month following the month in which it is approved by the 1-29 Governor or in which it becomes law without such approval. -1- (Index) LC 18 6918 SECTION 3. 2- 1 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 2- 2 repealed. -2- (Index)
