A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Expressing regret at the passing of Henry Hall Woolard, Sr.;
1- 2 and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recently lost one of its
1- 4 finest and most outstanding citizens in the untimely passing
1- 5 of Henry Hall Woolard, Sr.; and
1- 6 WHEREAS, this native son of Sylvester, Georgia, and lifelong
1- 7 resident of the City of Sylvester was a selfless
1- 8 humanitarian who has donated untold hours of his time,
1- 9 talents, and energy toward improving the quality of life in
1-10 his community as dramatically evidenced by his superlative
1-11 service as mayor of the City of Sylvester from 1971 through
1-12 1978, his membership and half century of perfect attendance
1-13 in the Sylvester-Worth County Kiwanis Club, and lifelong
1-14 membership in the Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church;
1-15 and
1-16 WHEREAS, he was the owner of the Woolard Oil Company for
1-17 over 50 years; and
1-18 WHEREAS, he consistently displayed great concern for his
1-19 fellow citizens in Sylvester and his reputation as a man of
1-20 integrity and honesty led many citizens and community
1-21 leaders to seek his counsel on a wide variety of matters;
1-22 and
1-23 WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership
1-24 talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen
1-25 sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the
1-26 citizens of his community earned him the respect and
1-27 admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
1-28 WHEREAS, he was a loving husband to Veautrice Hancock
1-29 Woolard and was devoted to their three children, 12
1-30 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and his untimely
1-31 passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts and lives of
1-32 his family and friends.
1-33 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-34 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their
1-35 deepest and sincerest regret at the passing of Henry Hall
1-36 Woolard, Sr.
