A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Designating the Old Milton County Bridge; and for other
1- 2 purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Milton County was merged with Fulton County by an
1- 4 Act of the General Assembly of Georgia in 1931; and
1- 5 WHEREAS, upon its merger with Fulton County, Milton County
1- 6 ceased to have legal existence; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, although Milton County ceased to exist legally as a
1- 8 separate county, it has remained in the hearts and minds of
1- 9 its former citizens; and
1-10 WHEREAS, in recognition of the existence of the former
1-11 Milton County and its unique place in the history of the
1-12 State of Georgia, it is a fitting remembrance of Milton
1-13 County to designate the bridge overpass on Georgia Highway
1-14 120 over Georgia 400 located in that portion of Fulton
1-15 County which was formerly Milton County as Old Milton County
1-16 Bridge.
1-17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
1-18 GEORGIA that the bridge overpass on Georgia Highway 120 over
1-19 Georgia 400 is designated as Old Milton County Bridge.
1-20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation
1-21 is authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate
1-22 signs at appropriate locations designating the Old Milton
1-23 County Bridge.
