HR 580 LC 21 3479 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Recognizing and commending the students selected as 1- 2 officials of the Georgia Youth Assembly; and for other 1- 3 purposes. 1- 4 WHEREAS, this year the state YMCA will sponsor the 1- 5 forty-eighth annual Georgia Youth Assembly at the State 1- 6 Capitol; and the following students have been selected to 1- 7 serve as officials for this assembly: 1- 8 Youth Governor Thomas Hinson Sylvania 1- 9 Lieutenant Governor Danielle Roberson Thomasville 1-10 Speaker of the House Sarah Benefield Tifton 1-11 Speaker Pro Tem Kelley Gary Commerce 1-12 of the House 1-13 President Pro Tem Clint Knight Moultrie 1-14 of the Senate 1-15 Secretary of BreAnna Reid Cleveland 1-16 the Senate 1-17 Clerk of the Tori Eason Baxley 1-18 House 1-19 Senate Floor Marcie Glidewell Jackson 1-20 Leader 1-21 House Floor Robby Blakemore Bowden 1-22 Leader 1-23 Doorkeeper of Will Kimbrough Sylvania 1-24 the Senate 1-25 Doorkeeper of Michael Armond, Jr. Dalton 1-26 the House 1-27 Chief Justice Warren Thomas Cartersville 1-28 Co-Editor Terri Flowers Tifton 1-29 Co-Editor Lopa Patel Sylvester 1-30 WHEREAS, these students have demonstrated qualities of 1-31 leadership, intelligence, and integrity and will become 1-32 valuable leaders in their communities as adults; and 1-33 WHEREAS, the Georgia Youth Assembly has provided countless 1-34 students an opportunity to develop an understanding of the 1-35 functions of the legislative, executive, and judicial 1-36 branches of government and an appreciation of the 1-37 governmental process. -1- (Index) LC 21 3479 2- 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 2- 2 REPRESENTATIVES that this body recognizes and commends all 2- 3 of the students who have been elected by their peers to 2- 4 serve as officials for the forty-eighth Georgia Youth 2- 5 Assembly and expresses to them its best wishes for success 2- 6 in their personal future pursuits. 2- 7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 2- 8 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 2- 9 appropriate copy of this resolution to the above-mentioned 2-10 individuals. -2- (Index)
