HR 64 LC 19 2259 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Honoring Mrs. Lovie Beck Moore on the occasion of her 100th 1- 2 birthday; and for other purposes. 1- 3 WHEREAS, Mrs. Lovie Beck Moore was born on January 23, 1895, 1- 4 in Bowdon, Georgia; and 1- 5 WHEREAS, for 100 years, the world has been enlivened and 1- 6 enlightened by the blessing of her indomitable spirit; and 1- 7 WHEREAS, she is one of eight children born of the marriage 1- 8 of I.H.P. Beck, a prominent and esteemed figure in this 1- 9 state's political history, and Mary Ida Jeter Beck; and 1-10 WHEREAS, she was united in marriage to Olin G. Moore on 1-11 March 11, 1920; and 1-12 WHEREAS, among the many rewards of her bountiful life, she 1-13 has been most especially blessed by the love for and love of 1-14 her four children, her grandchildren, and 1-15 great-grandchildren; and 1-16 WHEREAS, a woman of uncommon resolve and enviable stability, 1-17 she has lived in Bowdon, Georgia, for all of her life and 1-18 has lived on Wedowee Street since 1921; and 1-19 WHEREAS, she has given 100 years of devoted service to God 1-20 and to Bowdon United Methodist Church where she has been a 1-21 member her entire life; and 1-22 WHEREAS, the grace, strength, and love that have 1-23 characterized her life are worthy of celebration on the 1-24 anniversary of her birth. 1-25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-26 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor Mrs. 1-27 Lovie Beck Moore on the occasion of her 100th birthday and 1-28 extend to her sincere best wishes for many more years of 1-29 happiness, good health, and good fortune. 1-30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-31 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-32 appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Lovie Beck 1-33 Moore. -1- (Index)
