HR 707 LC 15 4218 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 In memory of Mr. William Gaines; and for other purposes. 1- 2 WHEREAS, Mr. William "Bill" Gaines passed from this life on 1- 3 Tuesday, March 14, 1995; and 1- 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Gaines, a resident of Marietta, Georgia, was a 1- 5 native Atlantan, a graduate of West Fulton High School, and 1- 6 a member of the Eastside Baptist Church; and 1- 7 WHEREAS, he served his country with valor and distinction as 1- 8 a naval airman during the Korean War; and 1- 9 WHEREAS, he became employed by the Cotton States Insurance 1-10 Company, where his diligence and dedication to his work were 1-11 readily recognized and rewarded; and 1-12 WHEREAS, he retired from the Cotton States Insurance Company 1-13 after 30 years of distinguished service; and 1-14 WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Insurance, recognizing 1-15 his expertise in the field of insurance, hired Mr. Gaines as 1-16 a property and casualty insurance analyst, and he approached 1-17 his work with the department with characteristic enthusiasm 1-18 and ability; and 1-19 WHEREAS, he was well-known to members of the insurance 1-20 industry who valued his wise counsel, appreciated his 1-21 pleasant demeanor, and admired the excellence of his work; 1-22 and 1-23 WHEREAS, his untimely passing leaves a void in the lives of 1-24 his wife, Beverly Gaines, his daughter, Alicia, other 1-25 members of his family, and numerous friends and colleagues. 1-26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-27 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their 1-28 deep condolences with regard to the passing of Mr. William 1-29 "Bill" Gaines and join with his family and friends in the 1-30 celebration of his memory. 1-31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-32 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-33 appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Beverly Gaines. -1- (Index)
