HR 719 LC 21 3514T A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Expressing regrets of the passing of Monroe Quinn; and for 1- 2 other purposes. 1- 3 WHEREAS, Monroe Quinn served for many years as the editor of 1- 4 the Lee County Ledger; and 1- 5 WHEREAS, during his service as editor of the Lee County 1- 6 Ledger Monroe Quinn provided many years of dedication to the 1- 7 people of Lee County providing information concerning the 1- 8 civic, government, and social activities of the people of 1- 9 Lee County, and provided a great forum of communication to 1-10 all the people who read and love the Lee County Ledger; and 1-11 WHEREAS, during his service as editor of the Lee County 1-12 Ledger, he was loved and respected by all people of Lee 1-13 County; and 1-14 WHEREAS, he was noted for his dedication to his children, 1-15 their education and his entire family; and 1-16 WHEREAS, his passing after a lengthy illness leaves a loss 1-17 to the public and to his family; and 1-18 WHEREAS, his years of service and wisdom will be preserved 1-19 in the history and the published word of the Lee County 1-20 Ledger and the lives of his family which were so profoundly 1-21 influenced by him; and 1-22 WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that this House of 1-23 Representatives expresses its regrets on the passing of 1-24 Monroe Quinn and pays tribute to his many years of service 1-25 to his family and community and to the citizens of the State 1-26 of Georgia. 1-27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-28 REPRESENTATIVES that it expresses its regret at the passing 1-29 of Monroe Quinn and commends him on his service to his 1-30 family, state, and the profession of journalism. 1-31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-32 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-33 appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Monroe 1-34 Quinn. -1- (Index)
