HR 79 LC 9 8059 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Designating the Lake Oconee Parkway; and for other purposes. 1- 2 WHEREAS, Lake Oconee is an outstanding resource which 1- 3 provides countless opportunities to the State of Georgia and 1- 4 its citizens for recreation, conservation, and economic 1- 5 development; and 1- 6 WHEREAS, Lake Oconee is enjoyed by numerous visitors to the 1- 7 State of Georgia; and 1- 8 WHEREAS, it is important that travelers be afforded access 1- 9 to the many delightful areas of Lake Oconee and that clear 1-10 and readily marked highways be designated to showcase this 1-11 beautiful lake. 1-12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1-13 GEORGIA that State Highway 44 from the corporate limits of 1-14 the City of Greensboro to the corporate limits of the City 1-15 of Eatonton is designated as the Lake Oconee Parkway. 1-16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation 1-17 is authorized and directed to place and maintain appropriate 1-18 signs and markers designating said parkway. 1-19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-20 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-21 appropriate copy of this resolution to the commissioner of 1-22 transportation. -1- (Index)
