HR 848 LC 22 1974 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Commending the Honorable Jack Kingston of the United States 1- 2 House of Representatives and inviting him to appear before 1- 3 the Georgia House of Representatives on January 26, 1996; 1- 4 and for other purposes. 1- 5 WHEREAS, he served with distinction from 1985 through 1992 1- 6 in the Georgia House of Representatives; and 1- 7 WHEREAS, his clear thinking and careful analysis of the 1- 8 issues were valuable assets to the House Committee on Ways 1- 9 and Means, the House Agriculture Committee, the House Motor 1-10 Vehicles Committee, the House Committee on State Planning 1-11 and Community Affairs, the House Insurance Committee, and 1-12 the House Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment 1-13 Committee; and 1-14 WHEREAS, he was elected in 1994 to represent the First 1-15 Congressional District in the House of Representatives of 1-16 the United States; and 1-17 WHEREAS, in Congress, he serves on the House Appropriations 1-18 Committee and was elected as vice chairperson of the 1-19 Congressional Rural Caucus; and 1-20 WHEREAS, his experience with the challenges and issues 1-21 confronting the Georgia General Assembly has given him an 1-22 outstanding perspective on national legislation; and 1-23 WHEREAS, his experiences in Congress may enlighten the 1-24 members of the House of Representatives of Georgia regarding 1-25 congressional views of federalism. 1-26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-27 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 1-28 Honorable Jack Kingston for his excellent representation of 1-29 Georgia's First Congressional District and invite him to 1-30 appear before this body on January 26, 1996. 1-31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 1-32 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 1-33 appropriate copy of this resolution to the Honorable Jack 1-34 Kingston. -1- (Index)
