A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend Article 2 of Chapter 4 of Title 32 of the Official
1- 2 Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the state highway
1- 3 system, so as to revise the developmental highway system; to
1- 4 provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws;
1- 5 and for other purposes.
1- 6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
1- 7 Article 2 of Chapter 4 of Title 32 of the Official Code of
1- 8 Georgia Annotated, relating to the state highway system, is
1- 9 amended by striking subsection (a) of Code Section 32-4-22,
1-10 relating to the creation of the developmental highway
1-11 system, in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the
1-12 following:
1-13 "(a) There is created as a part of the state highway
1-14 system a system of public roads to be known as the
1-15 Developmental Highway System which shall consist of the
1-16 following road corridors (not in order of priority):
1-17 (1) Appalachian;
1-18 (2) The South Georgia Parkway;
1-19 (3) U.S. 27;
1-20 (4) U.S. 82;
1-21 (5) Golden Isles;
1-22 (6) Savannah River;
1-23 (7) U.S. 441;
1-24 (8) Fall Line;
1-25 (9) U.S. 319;
1-26 (10) U.S. 19;
1-27 (11) U.S. 84;
1-28 (12) U.S. 1/SR 17;

2- 1 (13) SR 72;
2- 2 (14) Outer Perimeter; and
2- 3 (15)(14) East-west Highway from I-59 North to I-85
2- 4 North; and
2- 5 (15) East-west Highway from I-75 North to S.R. 316 along
2- 6 the corridor of S.R. 20; and
2- 7 (16) Truck access routes.
2- 8 Said system is further identified as being those roads and
2- 9 corridors referred to as 'the Governor's Road Improvement
2-10 Program' in that resolution adopted by the State
2-11 Transportation Board dated November 17, 1988."
SECTION 2.
2-12 This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
2-13 Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.
SECTION 3.
2-14 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
2-15 repealed.
