SB 769 96 LC 25 0326 SENATE BILL 769 By: Senators Gochenour of the 27th, Thompson of the 33rd, Ralston of the 51st and Dean of the 31st A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1- 1 To amend Part 2 of Article 3 of Chapter 6 of Title 32 of the 1- 2 Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to control of 1- 3 signs and signals along the state highway system, so as to 1- 4 provide that information concerning certain restaurants 1- 5 shall not be excluded from certain authorized signs, 1- 6 displays, and devices erected and maintained within the 1- 7 rights of way of the interstate system; to repeal 1- 8 conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 1- 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. 1-10 Part 2 of Article 3 of Chapter 6 of Title 32 of the Official 1-11 Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to control of signs and 1-12 signals along the state highway system, is amended by adding 1-13 a new Code Section 32-6-72.1 to read as follows: 1-14 "32-6-72.1. (Index) 1-15 The department shall not prohibit placement of information 1-16 concerning any restaurant on an authorized sign, display, 1-17 or device erected and maintained within the rights of way 1-18 of the interstate system pursuant to subsection (f) of 1-19 Section 131 of Title 23 of the United States Code if such 1-20 restaurant is open for business at least six days per week 1-21 and otherwise meets the requirements for inclusion of 1-22 information concerning such restaurant on the authorized 1-23 sign, display, or device."
