A BILL to amend Article 1 of Chapter 3 of Title 19 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relating to marriage, so as to provide that no common-law marriage shall be entered into in this state on or after July 1, 1996; to provide that otherwise valid common-law marriages, entered into prior to July 1, 1996, shall not be affected and shall continue to be recognized in this state; and for other purposes.
