First Reader Summary

A BILL to amend Code Section 12-8-24 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to permits for solid waste or special solid waste handling, disposal, or thermal treatment technology facilities, so as to provide that no permit for the construction of or major modification to any such facility located in certain counties shall be issued unless approved by the governing authority of the political subdivision in which such facility is located and ratified by the electors of such political subdivision; and for other purposes.
