First Reader Summary

A BILL to amend Code Section 5-6-33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the right of appeal generally, so as to provide that any person sentenced to death shall be limited to one appeal from such sentence; to amend Code Section 17-10-36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to establishment of a unified review procedure by the Supreme Court, so as to provide that such persons sentenced to death shall consolidate and assert all matters in a single appeal and failure to do so shall preclude additional appeals; and for other purposes.
