                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Authorizing the conveyance of certain property located in 
  1- 2  the City of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, and owned by 
  1- 3  the State of Georgia; to repeal conflicting laws; and for 
  1- 4  other purposes. 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, the State of Georgia owns a certain parcel of real 
  1- 6  property located in the City of Savannah, Chatham County, 
  1- 7  Georgia; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, said real property is that tract of land lying and 
  1- 9  being within the boundaries of intersections with E. Henry, 
  1-10  Drayton, Duffy, and Bull Streets in the city of Savannah, 
  1-11  Chatham County, Georgia, containing approximately 1.61 acres 
  1-12  and is the location of the Georgia Department of Human 
  1-13  Resources in the City of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, 
  1-14  and being more particularly described as follows: 
 
  1-15    "BEGINNING at the corner formed by the intersection of the 
  1-16    southwesterly side (right-of-way line) of Duffy Street 
  1-17    with the southeasterly side (right-of-way line) of Bull 
  1-18    Street, and from said point of beginning running thence in 
  1-19    a southeasterly direction along the southwesterly side 
  1-20    (right-of-way line) of Duffy Street a distance of 300 
  1-21    feet, more or less, to the corner formed by the 
  1-22    intersection of the southwesterly side (right-of-way line) 
  1-23    of Duffy Street with the northwesterly side (right-of-way 
  1-24    line) of Drayton Street; thence running in a southwesterly 
  1-25    direction along the northwesterly side (right-of-way line) 
  1-26    of Drayton Street a distance of 230 feet, more or less, to 
  1-27    the corner formed by the intersection of the northwesterly 
  1-28    side (right-of-way line) of Drayton Street with the 
  1-29    northeasterly side (right-of-way line) of Henry Street; 
  1-30    thence running in a northwesterly direction along the 
  1-31    northeasterly side (right-of-way line) of Henry Street a 
  1-32    distance of 300 feet, more or less, to the corner formed 
  1-33    by the intersection of the northeasterly side 
  1-34    (right-of-way line) of Henry Street with the southeasterly 
  1-35    side (right-of-way line) of Bull Street; thence running in 
  1-36    a northeasterly direction along the southeasterly side 
  1-37    (right-of-way line) of Bull Street a distance of 230 feet, 
  1-38    more or less, to the point of beginning."

  2- 1  The above-described property being all that property in that 
  2- 2  certain general warranty deed from D. Scott Hudgens and John 
  2- 3  E. Singleton to the State of Georgia dated November 26, 
  2- 4  1974, and being real property record number 05971 on file in 
  2- 5  the offices of the State Properties Commission and may be 
  2- 6  more particularly described on plat of survey prepared by a 
  2- 7  Georgia registered land surveyor and presented to the State 
  2- 8  Properties Commission for approval; and 
 
  2- 9  WHEREAS, said property is under the custody of the Georgia 
  2-10  Department of Human Resources and known as the Savannah 
  2-11  Regional Office Building; and 
 
  2-12  WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources is desirous of 
  2-13  relocating its activities due to overcrowding; and 
 
  2-14  WHEREAS, the City of Savannah has agreed to build a new 
  2-15  facility for use by the Department of Human Resources. 
 
  2-16  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL 
  2-17  ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  2-18                           SECTION 1. 
 
  2-19  That the State of Georgia is the owner of the 
  2-20  above-described property and that in all matters relating to 
  2-21  the conveyance of real property the State of Georgia is 
  2-22  acting by and through the State Properties Commission. 
 
  2-23                           SECTION 2. 
 
  2-24  That the above-described real property shall be conveyed by 
  2-25  appropriate instrument to the City of Savannah by the State 
  2-26  of Georgia, acting by and through the State Properties 
  2-27  Commission, for a consideration of $10.00 once the property 
  2-28  is vacated by the Department of Human Resources, and that 
  2-29  fair market value of the above-described state owned 
  2-30  property be deducted from the rental rate of the new 
  2-31  facility to be built by the City of Savannah over a term of 
  2-32  not less than 15 years, and such further consideration and 
  2-33  provisions as the State Properties Commission shall in its 
  2-34  discretion determines to be in the best interest of the 
  2-35  State of Georgia. 
 
  2-36                           SECTION 3. 
 
  2-37  That the State Properties Commission is authorized and 
  2-38  empowered to do all acts and things necessary to effect the 
  2-39  conveyance.

  3- 1                           SECTION 4. 
 
  3- 2  That the deed of conveyance shall be recorded by the City of 
  3- 3  Savannah in the Superior Court of Chatham County and a 
  3- 4  recorded copy shall be forwarded to the State Properties 
  3- 5  Commission. 
 
  3- 6                           SECTION 5. 
 
  3- 7  That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this
