                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldog 
  1- 2  basketball team and inviting the team and the coach to 
  1- 3  appear before the House of Representatives; and for other 
  1- 4  purposes. 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs made 
  1- 6  history for their school and its community by winning the 
  1- 7  1997 AA State Championship; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, this state championship title is the first crown 
  1- 9  the school has ever earned in any sport other than football; 
  1-10  and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, these fabulous female athletes compiled an 
  1-12  outstanding season record of 26 wins and only 3 losses, 
  1-13  which reflects the most wins in the history of the girls 
  1-14  basketball team; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, the Lady Bulldogs exhibited tremendous teamwork 
  1-16  throughout their season, and they fashioned a remarkable 16 
  1-17  game winning streak; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, this accomplished team was named the Thomasville 
  1-19  Times-Enterprise/Reebok Holiday Hoopfest champions, and 
  1-20  their excellent performance as the I-AA East Sub-Region 
  1-21  champions was surpassed only by their superb skill in 
  1-22  winning the school's first I-AA Region Championship and then 
  1-23  their glorious title as AA State Champions. 
 
  1-24  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-25  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-26  Thomasville High School Lady Bulldog basketball team on 
  1-27  their sterling performance as state champions and invite the 
  1-28  team and the coach to appear before the House of 
  1-29  Representatives at a time to be determined by the Speaker of 
  1-30  the House of Representatives. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to the Thomasville High 
  1-34  School Lady Bulldog basketball team.
