                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 16-11-130 of the Official Code of 
  1- 2  Georgia Annotated, relating to exemptions from criminal 
  1- 3  prohibitions against carrying weapons in certain manners or 
  1- 4  certain places, so as to provide an exemption for certain 
  1- 5  retired district attorneys, attorneys employed by the 
  1- 6  Prosecuting Attorneys' Council, and certain retired 
  1- 7  assistant district attorneys and district attorneys 
  1- 8  investigators; to provide an exemption for certain retired 
  1- 9  state trial and appellate judges; to provide for related 
  1-10  matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1-11       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1-12                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1-13  Code Section 16-11-130 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1-14  Annotated, relating to exemptions from criminal prohibitions 
  1-15  against carrying weapons in certain manners or certain 
  1-16  places, is amended by striking paragraph (5) of subsection 
  1-17  (a) and inserting in its place a new paragraph (5) to read 
  1-18  as follows: 
 
  1-19      "(5) District attorneys, investigators employed by and 
  1-20      assigned to a district attorney's office, assistant 
  1-21      district attorneys, attorneys employed by the 
  1-22      Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia, and district 
  1-23      attorneys emeritus any retired district attorney, 
  1-24      assistant district attorney, or district attorneys 
  1-25      investigator if such retired employee is receiving 
  1-26      benefits under Title 47 or is retired in good standing 
  1-27      and receiving benefits from a county or municipal 
  1-28      retirement system;" 
 
  1-29                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-30  Said Code section is further amended by striking paragraph 
  1-31  (12) of subsection (a) and inserting in its place a new 
  1-32  paragraph (12) to read as follows: 
 
 
 
 
                                 -1- 
 
 
 
  2- 1      "(12) State and federal trial and appellate judges, and 
  2- 2      full-time judges of municipal and city courts., and 
  2- 3      former state trial and appellate judges retired from 
  2- 4      their respective offices under state retirement;" 
 
  2- 5                           SECTION 3. 
 
  2- 6  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
