                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Designating the Charles Frederick Warnell, Sr., Highway; and 
  1- 2  for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Honorable Charles Frederick Warnell, Sr., was a 
  1- 4  lifelong resident of Bryan County who was recognized for the 
  1- 5  vital role that he played in community leadership and his 
  1- 6  deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of 
  1- 7  Georgia; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, he served for two terms as a member of the Senate, 
  1- 9  representing Bryan, Liberty, and McIntosh counties, first 
  1-10  during the 1955-1956 term and later during the 1961-1962 
  1-11  term, and he was a dedicated member of the Board of 
  1-12  Education of Bryan County for 28 years, having served as 
  1-13  chairman for 15 of those years, and his countless 
  1-14  contributions to education enriched the lives of the young 
  1-15  people of Bryan County; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership 
  1-17  talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen 
  1-18  sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the 
  1-19  citizens of his community earned him the respect and 
  1-20  admiration of his colleagues and associates; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, sadly, Mr. Warnell passed away on April 19, 1999, 
  1-22  joining his wife, Virginia Moody Warnell, in death and 
  1-23  leaving behind four children, Charles Frederick Warnell, 
  1-24  Jr., Mary Virginia Warnell, Carolyn Warnell Downs, and David 
  1-25  Bryan Warnell; and 
 
  1-26  WHEREAS, it is only proper that the members of this body 
  1-27  honor the memory of this outstanding citizen. 
 
  1-28  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-29  REPRESENTATIVES that the portion of U.S. Highway 280 in 
  1-30  Bryan County from the Evans County line to the municipal 
  1-31  limits of the City of Pembroke shall be designated as the 
  1-32  "Chas. F. Warnell, Sr., Highway." 
 
  1-33  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation 
  1-34  is authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate 
  1-35  signs designating the "Chas. F. Warnell, Sr., Highway."

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  2- 3  appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
