                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Mrs. Betty Lyons for her 
  1- 2  extraordinary efforts while working at the Capitol; and for 
  1- 3  other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Mrs. Betty Lyons is widely known, loved, and 
  1- 5  respected by the citizens of Fulton County and the State of 
  1- 6  Georgia; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, Mrs. Lyons has been the loving wife of Mr. Bill 
  1- 8  Lyons for 39 years and is the mother of two accomplished 
  1- 9  children, Peggy and David; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, Mrs. Lyons began her exemplary 33 year career with 
  1-11  the State of Georgia in the Office of the Clerk of the House 
  1-12  of Representatives, then moved to work for many members of 
  1-13  the House of Representatives in the Legislative Office 
  1-14  Building, including the chairman of the House Insurance 
  1-15  Committee and, most recently, for E. M. "Buddy" Childers, 
  1-16  the chairman of the House Health and Ecology Committee; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, in each of these positions Mrs. Lyons has performed 
  1-18  outstanding work in assisting members of the House of 
  1-19  Representatives and their constituents; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, anyone who has come in contact with Mrs. Lyons has 
  1-21  been impressed with her extraordinary dedication and 
  1-22  excellent administrative and organizational talents. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-24  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-25  commend Mrs. Betty Lyons for her many outstanding 
  1-26  accomplishments and for her numerous contributions to the 
  1-27  citizens of the State of Georgia. 
 
  1-28  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-29  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-30  appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Betty Lyons.
