                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Joseph Drolet; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Joseph Drolet is a native of Kankakee, Illinois, is 
  1- 4  a 1966 graduate of the University of Illinois, and a 1969 
  1- 5  graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he served as an assistant state's attorney in 
  1- 7  Kankakee County, Illinois, from 1969 through 1971 and as 
  1- 8  assistant district attorney for the Atlanta Judicial Circuit 
  1- 9  from 1972 through 1991; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, he served as head of the appellate division of the 
  1-11  district attorney's office and, from 1973 through 1991, as 
  1-12  legislative liaison for the Fulton County District 
  1-13  Attorney's office; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, he served as chairman of the Criminal Law Section 
  1-15  of the State Bar of Georgia in 1981-82 and is a past 
  1-16  president of the Citywide League of Neighborhoods and the 
  1-17  Inman Park Neighborhood Association, a past chairman of the 
  1-18  Virginia Highland Civic Association, and a past president of 
  1-19  the Mary Lin Elementary School P.T.A.; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, he was a member of the Committee to Revise the 
  1-21  Judicial Article of the Constitution of Georgia, chairman of 
  1-22  the Criminal Justice Task Force of the Atlanta Regional 
  1-23  Commission, and legislative chairman for Georgians for 
  1-24  Victim Justice, a state-wide victim's rights organization; 
  1-25  and 
 
  1-26  WHEREAS, he is currently serving as solicitor of the City 
  1-27  Court of Atlanta; and 
 
  1-28  WHEREAS, he served with distinction and ability as special 
  1-29  counsel to the Ethics Committee of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives in 1993, 1999, and 2000. 
 
  1-31  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-32  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-33  commend Joseph Drolet for his many years of outstanding 
  1-34  public service and his numerous contributions to the State 
  1-35  of Georgia and its citizens.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
