A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Honoring the life and work of Joseph P. "Joey" Crawford and
1- 2 expressing regret at his passing; and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Joseph P. "Joey" Crawford, a Savannah resident, was
1- 4 a long-time community and political activist who always had
1- 5 the best interests of his fellow Georgians at the heart of
1- 6 all his actions; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, on February 2, 1999, Mr. Crawford passed away from
1- 8 complications from heart surgery at the tragically young age
1- 9 of 44. During his illness, many well-wishers prayed for him
1-10 and sent messages of support; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Joey Crawford will be remembered for his friendly
1-12 demeanor and positive outlook. He had a heart of gold and
1-13 was adored by his friends and respected and well-liked by
1-14 his political opponents. He worked tirelessly for causes he
1-15 believed in, and Mr. Crawford will undoubtedly be best
1-16 remembered for the depth of his altruism; and
1-17 WHEREAS, never one to say a bad word, his work on behalf of
1-18 the causes he believed in was magnified by the kind and warm
1-19 way in which he performed it; and
1-20 WHEREAS, as busy as he was in his volunteerism and in his
1-21 work as an insurance broker and owner of Financial
1-22 Strategies, Inc., Joey Crawford always found the time and
1-23 energy to be an active and devoted father to his son Cole as
1-24 well as a wonderful husband to his wife Pam; and
1-25 WHEREAS, Savannah and indeed all of Georgia is diminished by
1-26 the loss of this great advocate and family man, and it is
1-27 only fitting and proper that his accomplishments and warm
1-28 spirit be honored and remembered by all the citizens of
1-29 Georgia who should be so lucky to have people like Mr.
1-30 Crawford working and serving in their communities.
1-31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
1-32 GEORGIA that this body honors the life and work of Joseph
1-33 P. Crawford and expresses its regret at his passing and
1-34 extends its deepest condolences to his family and friends.

2- 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 2 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 3 appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Pam Crawford.
