                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Chief Randy Camp; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, at the twenty-seventh annual Firefighter's 
  1- 4  Recognition Day held at the state capitol on February 2, 
  1- 5  1999, Chief Randy Camp of the Fort Oglethorpe Fire 
  1- 6  Department received the prestigious Lifesaving Valor Award 
  1- 7  from the Georgia State Firefighter's Association for his 
  1- 8  efforts in saving a wheelchair-bound victim of a fire in 
  1- 9  Fort Oglethorpe; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, he has been a volunteer firefighter with the Fort 
  1-11  Oglethorpe Fire Department for 23 years and has been the 
  1-12  chief of this fine group since 1991; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, he has also served as a member of the Atlanta Fire 
  1-14  Department since 1983, where he is currently a lieutenant; 
  1-15  and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, in recognition of his dedication to helping others 
  1-17  and preventing the loss of life and property, he was named 
  1-18  Rookie of the Year in 1979 and Outstanding Young Fireman of 
  1-19  the Year in 1980 by the Fort Oglethorpe Fire Department, he 
  1-20  received the Lifesaver Award in 1996 and the Award of Valor 
  1-21  in 1997, and he received a Letter of Commendation in 1984 
  1-22  from the Atlanta Fire Department; and 
 
  1-23  WHEREAS, he is known and respected for his many years of 
  1-24  community involvement and his dedication to educating the 
  1-25  firefighters and citizens of Georgia in fire prevention, 
  1-26  lifesaving, and firefighting techniques; and 
 
  1-27  WHEREAS, Chief Randy Camp is truly a hero to the citizens of 
  1-28  Fort Oglethorpe and the State of Georgia. 
 
  1-29  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-30  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-31  commend Chief Randy Camp for his many years of exemplary 
  1-32  public service and for his receipt of the Lifesaving Valor 
  1-33  Award from the Georgia State Firefighter's Association.

  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
