A RESOLUTION
1- 1 In memory of Mr. M. C. Williams; and for other purposes.
1- 2 WHEREAS, M.C. Williams was born in Worth County, Georgia, on
1- 3 August 1, 1910, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edd
1- 4 Williams; and
1- 5 WHEREAS, he received his early education in the public
1- 6 schools of Worth County; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, he was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mrs.
1- 8 Annie Richey Williams in 1939 and they adopted and reared
1- 9 one son; and
1-10 WHEREAS, he served honorably in the armed forces of the
1-11 United States during World War II and was a member of
1-12 Emanuel Grant Post 528 American Legion; and
1-13 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a man of great character with a
1-14 warm and generous heart and he was admired and loved by
1-15 those who were fortunate enough to meet him; and
1-16 WHEREAS, in addition to being a well-known farmer, he was a
1-17 civic minded person who was deeply concerned with the
1-18 betterment of conditions for his people; and
1-19 WHEREAS, M. C. Williams passed away on June 26, 1977.
1-20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-21 REPRESENTATIVES that this body honors the memory of the
1-22 late M. C. Williams whose life still resonates among his
1-23 family, friends, and community.
1-24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-25 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-26 appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of the
1-27 late M. C. Williams.
