A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending and congratulating Kelcy Susannah Freeman of
1- 2 Kingsland, Georgia, and inviting her to appear before the
1- 3 House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
1- 4 WHEREAS, Kelcy Susannah Freeman has been an outstanding
1- 5 student at Camden County High School, showing exceptional
1- 6 academic, athletic and leadership abilities; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, she exemplifies the ideal of a strong mind in a
1- 8 strong body; and
1- 9 WHEREAS, excellence in academic endeavors has been and
1-10 continues to be vital to the discoveries that have
1-11 lengthened the span of our lives, illuminated our
1-12 understanding of the physical world, and offered hope for
1-13 solving the problems of the present and the future; and
1-14 WHEREAS, she earned an academic letter in her freshman and
1-15 sophomore years, was named to the Superintendent's Honor
1-16 Roll for two years, and has been a Beta Club member for
1-17 three years, and a National Honor Society member in her
1-18 junior year; and
1-19 WHEREAS, she was on the varsity cross country and varsity
1-20 tennis teams for three years, played junior varsity
1-21 basketball for two years, and attended the state cross
1-22 country meet in her junior year; and
1-23 WHEREAS, she earned the first place award for senior life
1-24 science in the District 10 science fair, and an honorable
1-25 mention in the state science fair; and
1-26 WHEREAS, she has been Chairperson of the Beta Club
1-27 Relay-for-Life Team and raised more than $600.00 for the
1-28 American Cancer Society through the Relay-for-Life; and
1-29 WHEREAS, she has participated in the Hugh O'Brien Youth
1-30 Leadership Seminar and the Presidential Classroom
1-31 Scholarship Program; and
1-32 WHEREAS, at the age of 16, she earned a perfect 1600 score
1-33 on the SAT.

2- 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
2- 2 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Kelcy
2- 3 Susannah Freeman for her many excellent achievements in
2- 4 academics, athletics, and leadership, congratulate her on
2- 5 her perfect score on the SAT, predict a brilliant future for
2- 6 her, and invite her to appear before the House of
2- 7 Representatives at a time and place to be designated by the
2- 8 Speaker of the House of Representatives.
2- 9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2-10 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2-11 appropriate copy of this resolution to Kelcy Susannah
2-12 Freeman.
