                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Honoring Sharon Nowlin; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, guided by a clear vision of success, a strong will 
  1- 3  to succeed, and uncommon enthusiasm and intelligence, Sharon 
  1- 4  Nowlin has overcome obstacles and detours to achieve great 
  1- 5  success in business; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, endowed with an independent and entrepreneurial 
  1- 7  spirit, Ms. Nowlin has owned and operated her own business 
  1- 8  for more than ten years; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, her business success began with a home-based 
  1-10  business specializing in telephone systems sales, 
  1-11  installation, and maintenance; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, in 1998, she founded the Southside Copy Center as a 
  1-13  means of accommodating her growing business interests and of 
  1-14  meeting the needs of the community in which she lives; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, recognizing the need for quality, professional 
  1-16  business related service in the area of South Atlanta, Ms. 
  1-17  Nowlin and her staff at Southside Copy Center are dedicated 
  1-18  to providing a wide variety of such services to both the 
  1-19  business and residential communities; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, under her excellent leadership and guidance, 
  1-21  Southside Copy Center is growing and continually expanding 
  1-22  to provide the highest quality and most professional service 
  1-23  possible; and 
 
  1-24  WHEREAS, in recognition of her accomplishments in business, 
  1-25  Ms. Nowlin was asked to appear on a segment of the "Oprah 
  1-26  Winfrey Show" which honored successful, African American, 
  1-27  female entrepreneurs from around the country; and 
 
  1-28  WHEREAS, Ms. Nowlin is as committed to her family as she is 
  1-29  to her business and is a loving and beloved wife, daughter, 
  1-30  sister, and aunt; and 
 
  1-31  WHEREAS, she is also a kind-hearted samaritan who quietly 
  1-32  shares her success through acts of great generosity and 
  1-33  compassion benefiting others in need of assistance; and

  2- 1  WHEREAS, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Nowlin now 
  2- 2  resides in Atlanta, Georgia, and it is people like her who 
  2- 3  contribute to that city's reputation as a business mecca and 
  2- 4  a great place in which to live. 
 
  2- 5  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  2- 6  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor Sharon 
  2- 7  Nowlin as an outstanding citizen of the State of Georgia, 
  2- 8  commend her on her success in business, and extend best 
  2- 9  wishes for her continued success and good fortune. 
 
  2-10  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2-11  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
