                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Weldon A. Nash, Jr.; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Weldon A. Nash, Jr., was named Georgia Builder 
  1- 3  Member of the Year by his professional peers.  He is the 
  1- 4  inaugural recipient of this newly created prestigious award; 
  1- 5  and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, Mr. Nash has had a notable career which began when 
  1- 7  he became a journeyman plumber at age 16.  After receiving a 
  1- 8  bachelor of science degree from the Georgia Institute of 
  1- 9  Technology in 1965, Mr. Nash worked as a project engineer 
  1-10  for DuPont in Florence, South Carolina.  He returned to 
  1-11  Georgia in 1967 to work as a project engineer for Goldkist 
  1-12  in Atlanta and soon advanced to chief design engineer in 
  1-13  1971; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, in 1973, Mr. Nash made the life-changing decision 
  1-15  to incorporate his own company for the purpose of designing, 
  1-16  building, and developing residential and commercial 
  1-17  properties; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, since 1993, Mr. Nash has managed Brookwood 
  1-19  Builders, Inc., and Millstone East, Ltd., which are involved 
  1-20  in the construction of residential homes.  He is currently 
  1-21  the president and CEO of Weldon, Inc.; and 
 
  1-22  WHEREAS, metropolitan Atlanta and Dekalb County have been 
  1-23  the beneficiaries of the skill and craftsmanship of Mr. Nash 
  1-24  and his teams of builders.  Landmarks such as the Children's 
  1-25  Medical Professional Building, the Rehoboth Baptist Church, 
  1-26  and numerous lovely homes all attest to his talents; and 
 
  1-27  WHEREAS, Mr. Nash and his wife Jayne Randolph have 
  1-28  contributed greatly to their community by their hard work, 
  1-29  warm spirits, and caring hearts.  Mr. Nash has also served 
  1-30  as a director of Eagle Bancshares, Inc., and Tucker Federal 
  1-31  Bank and has used his building skills to benefit the less 
  1-32  fortunate; and 
 
  1-33  WHEREAS, the Nashes have raised three wonderful children and 
  1-34  are now blessed with five terrific grandsons; and

  2- 1  WHEREAS, it is men like Weldon A. Nash, Jr., who make the 
  2- 2  communities of Georgia the great places to live and work 
  2- 3  that they are, and it only fitting and proper to commend him 
  2- 4  on this occasion. 
 
  2- 5  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  2- 6  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Weldon 
  2- 7  A. Nash, Jr., on the occasion of his being named Georgia 
  2- 8  Builder Member of the Year and thank him for all he has done 
  2- 9  for Georgia. 
 
  2-10  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2-11  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
