                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the Valwood School football team and inviting the 
  1- 2  team and the coaches to appear before the House of 
  1- 3  Representatives; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, the Valwood School football team brought fame and 
  1- 5  honor to the school and its community as the team won the 
  1- 6  title, 1999 GISA Class A State Football Champions; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, these outstanding young athletes had a fabulous 
  1- 8  season record of 12-2 and demonstrated great teamwork and 
  1- 9  determination throughout the year as they advanced to the 
  1-10  state championship; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, this 1999 title is Valwood School's third state 
  1-12  title following their record performances in 1985 and 1986, 
  1-13  and the school was runner-up in 1984 and 1990; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, the team formed a tight defense that only allowed 
  1-15  opponents an average of nine points per game, and the team's 
  1-16  offense averaged 26 points per game; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, the players demonstrated exceptional skill, 
  1-18  motivation, and discipline throughout the season, and their 
  1-19  accomplishments reflected the expert training and experience 
  1-20  provided by their dedicated coaches; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, the ability and good sportsmanship of this 
  1-22  championship team have contributed immensely to the school 
  1-23  spirit and morale of the students and created a lifetime of 
  1-24  memories for the players. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-26  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-27  Valwood School football team on winning the 1999 GISA Class 
  1-28  A football championship title and invite the team and 
  1-29  coaches to appear before the House at a time to be 
  1-30  determined by the Speaker. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to Valwood School.
