A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending Mr. Charles E. Wright; and for other purposes.
1- 2 WHEREAS, Mr. Charles E. Wright's activities as an adult
1- 3 scouter span several councils, and he has been either a
1- 4 scoutmaster or an assistant scoutmaster of several different
1- 5 troops, an explorer advisor, and a cubmaster, and for the
1- 6 past 33 years he has served as District Camping Committee
1- 7 and Membership Chairman in the Atlanta Area Council; and
1- 8 WHEREAS, he is an Eagle Scout and has received the
1- 9 prestigious Silver Beaver award for distinguished service,
1-10 is a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and holds the
1-11 Wood Badge Beads, the Scouter's Award, the God and Country
1-12 Award, and the District Award of Merit, and he has been the
1-13 Sustaining Membership Enrollment Chairman, assisted with
1-14 Scout shows, been camporee chief on numerous occasions, and
1-15 assisted with adult leader training, and he served for 18
1-16 consecutive years as Boy Scout Summer Camp Leader for Troop
1-17 209 in Conyers; and
1-18 WHEREAS, Mr. Wright has influenced the lives of hundreds of
1-19 Scouts and helped bring along dozens of Eagle Scouts and has
1-20 passed on his love of scouting to hundreds of our youth who
1-21 have observed his tireless devotion to others, and he has
1-22 been a living example of the true meaning of obedience to
1-23 the laws of scouting; and
1-24 WHEREAS, he began scouting at the age of eight and has been
1-25 continuously involved with scouting for more than 50 years,
1-26 and he continues to serve as Scout Master of Troop 209 of
1-27 the First Presbyterian Church of Conyers, where his love and
1-28 devotion to the youth of Rockdale County is highly
1-29 appreciated and where he is much loved by all scouts, their
1-30 parents, and all people whose lives he has touched; and
1-31 WHEREAS, Mr. Wright and his wife, Alice, have two sons who
1-32 attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 13: Captain
1-33 Jeffrey Wright, a United States Marine Corps pilot of the
1-34 largest helicopter in the world, a CH-53E, and who is listed
1-35 as lost at sea on November 4, 1992; and Captain Gregory
1-36 Wright, a United States Marine Corps aviator who also flies
1-37 the CH-53E helicopter and who recently returned from a

2- 1 six-month deployment in the Mediterranean, and is currently
2- 2 on active duty serving his country.
2- 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
2- 4 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend
2- 5 Charles E. Wright.
2- 6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 7 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 8 appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Charles E.
2- 9 Wright.
