A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending Honorable Hermon Butler, Sr., Probate Judge of
1- 2 Bryan County; and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Honorable Hermon Butler, Sr., has served with the
1- 4 utmost dedication as the Probate Judge of Bryan County for
1- 5 nearly two decades; and
1- 6 WHEREAS, he was appointed to the court by Superior Court
1- 7 Judge John Harvey in 1980 to fill a vacancy, and he was
1- 8 unopposed in his election to four additional terms; and
1- 9 WHEREAS, Judge Butler has been a major figure in the
1-10 governmental affairs of Bryan County, and his leadership,
1-11 integrity, and fairness earned him a position of great
1-12 respect; and
1-13 WHEREAS, his responsible manner of administering the affairs
1-14 of his office and the law relating to estates, guardianship,
1-15 vital records, and elections demonstrated his keen
1-16 understanding of the personal and legal significance of the
1-17 duties of the probate court; and
1-18 WHEREAS, in addition to his profession, Judge Butler has
1-19 been an influential member of various community
1-20 organizations and has given generously of his time; and
1-21 WHEREAS, he has influenced the lives of countless
1-22 individuals, and his professional and personal life reflect
1-23 his principles and his genuine love for his wife and family.
1-24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-25 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend
1-26 Honorable Hermon Butler, Sr., for his dedicated service as
1-27 the Probate Judge of Bryan County and convey to him their
1-28 appreciation and respect.
1-29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-30 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-31 appropriate copy of this resolution to Judge Hermon Butler,
1-32 Sr.
