                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Part 2 of Article 1 of Chapter 8 of Title 40 of the 
  1- 2  Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to lighting 
  1- 3  equipment of motor vehicles, so as to change certain 
  1- 4  provisions relating to when lighted headlights are required; 
  1- 5  to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 6       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 7                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 8  Part 2 of Article 1 of Chapter 8 of Title 40 of the Official 
  1- 9  Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to lighting equipment of 
  1-10  motor vehicles, is amended by striking Code Section 40-8-20, 
  1-11  relating to when lighted headlights are required, and 
  1-12  inserting in its place the following: 
 
  1-13    "40-8-20. 
 
  1-14    Every vehicle upon a highway within this state at any time 
  1-15    from a half-hour after sunset to a half-hour before 
  1-16    sunrise and at any time when it is raining in the driving 
  1-17    zone and at any other time when there is not sufficient 
  1-18    visibility to render clearly discernible persons and 
  1-19    vehicles on the highway at a distance of 500 feet ahead 
  1-20    shall display lights, including headlights, and 
  1-21    illuminating devices as required in this part for 
  1-22    different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions with 
  1-23    respect to parked vehicles as stated in this part." 
 
  1-24                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-25  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
