                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 15-6-3 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1- 2  Annotated, relating to terms of court for the superior 
  1- 3  courts, so as to change the terms of court for the counties 
  1- 4  of the Oconee Judicial Circuit; to provide for a grand jury 
  1- 5  for each term of court in such circuit; to provide for an 
  1- 6  effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other 
  1- 7  purposes. 
 
  1- 8       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 9                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1-10  Code Section 15-6-3 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1-11  Annotated, relating to terms of court for the superior 
  1-12  courts, is amended by striking in its entirety paragraph 
  1-13  (29), and inserting in its place the following: 
 
  1-14      "(29) Oconee Circuit: 
 
  1-15        (A) Bleckley County -- First Second Monday in March 
  1-16        and second Monday in July and fourth Monday in October 
  1-17        and November, and there shall be a grand jury for each 
  1-18        term. 
 
  1-19        (B) Dodge County -- Third Monday in February, May, 
  1-20        first Monday in June, August, and last Monday in 
  1-21        September November, and there shall be a grand jury 
  1-22        for each term. 
 
  1-23        (C) Montgomery County -- First Monday in February, 
  1-24        May, and second Monday in August, and November, and 
  1-25        there shall  be a grand jury for each term. 
 
  1-26        (D) Pulaski County -- Second and third Mondays in 
  1-27        March Monday in April and September and second Monday 
  1-28        in June and first Monday in December, and there shall 
  1-29        be a grand jury for each term. 
 
  1-30        (E) Telfair County -- Fourth Third Monday in February 
  1-31        and June March and August and third and fourth Mondays

  2- 1        in October first Monday in November, and there shall 
  2- 2        be a grand jury for each term. 
 
  2- 3        (F) Wheeler County -- Second Monday in February and 
  2- 4        October and third Monday in June Last Monday in 
  2- 5        January and first Monday in August, and there shall be 
  2- 6        a grand jury for each term." 
 
  2- 7                           SECTION 2. 
 
  2- 8  This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2000. 
 
  2- 9                           SECTION 3. 
 
  2-10  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
