                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 48-8-3 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1- 2  Annotated, relating to exemptions from state sales and use 
  1- 3  tax, so as to provide for an exemption with respect to sales 
  1- 4  to housing authorities; to provide for conditions and 
  1- 5  limitations; to provide an effective date; to repeal 
  1- 6  conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 8                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 9  Code Section 48-8-3 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1-10  Annotated, relating to exemptions from state sales and use 
  1-11  tax, is amended by adding a new paragraph immediately 
  1-12  following paragraph (6), to be designated paragraph (6.1), 
  1-13  to read as follows: 
 
  1-14      "(6.1) Sales to any housing authority created by Article 
  1-15      1 of Chapter 3 of Title 8, the 'Housing Authorities 
  1-16      Law';". 
 
  1-17                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-18  This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2000. 
 
  1-19                           SECTION 3. 
 
  1-20  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 
  1-21  repealed.
