                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 12-9-45 of the Official Code of 
  1- 2  Georgia Annotated, relating to certificates of emission 
  1- 3  inspection, so as to provide for an additional exemption 
  1- 4  from testing requirements; to provide an effective date; to 
  1- 5  repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 6       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 7                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 8  Code Section 12-9-45 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1- 9  Annotated, relating to certificates of emission inspection, 
  1-10  is amended by striking subsection (h) and inserting in its 
  1-11  place a new subsection (h) to read as follows: 
 
  1-12    "(h) Vehicles that are driven less than 5,000 miles per 
  1-13    year and are 10 ten years old or older will be exempted 
  1-14    from testing, provided that the owner of such vehicle is 
  1-15    65 years old or older or disabled." 
 
  1-16                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-17  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1999. 
 
  1-18                           SECTION 3. 
 
  1-19  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
