                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Code Section 40-9-101 of the Official Code of 
  1- 2  Georgia Annotated, relating to motor vehicle self-insurers, 
  1- 3  so as to change certain provisions relating to an exception 
  1- 4  applicable to taxicab self-insurers located in counties with 
  1- 5  populations of 400,000 or less; to repeal conflicting laws; 
  1- 6  and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 8                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 9  Code Section 40-9-101 of the Official Code of Georgia 
  1-10  Annotated, relating motor vehicle self-insurers, is amended 
  1-11  by striking subparagraph (a)(3)(G) and inserting in lieu 
  1-12  thereof the following: 
 
  1-13        "(G) Until December 31, 1998 2000, the provisions of 
  1-14        subparagraph (C) of this paragraph shall not apply to 
  1-15        taxicab self-insurers which were located in counties 
  1-16        with populations of 400,000 or less according to the 
  1-17        United States decennial census of 1990 or any future 
  1-18        such census and were licensed by the Commissioner of 
  1-19        Insurance on December 31, 1997 1998." 
 
  1-20                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-21  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
